Competition for photographers with the prize fund $4000

Deadline: September 9, 2020

The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) invites you to participate in an international street photography competition. Winners will receive a prize fund of $4,000, promotion in the online gallery (NYC4PA Online Gallery) and publication in the catalog.

The main winner (winner of the "grand prize") will also be presented on the main page https://www.nyc4pa.com/.

Both amateurs and professionals from all over the world can participate.

About the contest theme:

Viviane Mayer, who has long been unknown, has left behind a valuable archive of pictures she took during her walks in her spare time. Henri Cartier-Bresson, Meyerovitz, Diane Arbus, Walker Evans ... - the list of experienced and famous street and documentary photographers can be continued. Their work has captured the special essence of life that does not pose, is not created artificially, but exists: in avenues, courtyards and entrances. Equally irresistible images surround us today.

The task of this competition is to collect the best contemporary works in the genre of "street photography". Take a camera or phone outside and capture a strange combination of a passerby and window decoration, a special look, a special moment of communication for a split second, a scene that conveys a message or feeling. There are plenty of opportunities and examples.
