This contest provides artists with the opportunity to share their works created using Copic products. The prize is open to all nationalities, ages and levels of experience. There are no categories and no specific theme. The Grand Prix includes a cash prize ($3,000), an invitation to an award ceremony in Tokyo (with road and accommodation charges) and a set of 358 Copic!
Most of the work has to be done with Copic products. In addition, you can use any other materials (acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, etc.).
The dimensions of the work must be within 24" x 18" x 12" (length max. 420mm x thickness max. 297mm x height max. 300mm), weight max. 5 kg.
Group participation is not allowed (individual only). Works from other contests or public exhibitions are not accepted (however it is allowed to submit your works already published in social networks).
In addition to the Grand Prix, the two winners will receive a $1,000 invitation to Tokyo (with payment for the road and accommodation) + sets of 358 Copic markers. And there will be five awards from the jury (special sets of markers).
The works of the participants will be shown on the official website of the award, which will allow to show their Copic fans from all over the world, make the competition more exciting and inspire each other.
The 2020 Jury includes: Teiya Iwabuchi (editor-in-chief of Bijutsu Techo, representative of "OIL by Bijutsu Techo"), Takeshi Obata (manga artist), Yurie Sekiya (illustrator), Chisato Tsumori (fashion designer), Kei Matsushita (professor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music).
