Head On is a global collection of the best works by beginners and recognized photographers in the portrait and landscape categories. This year's prizes are more significant than ever.
The prize fund of $70,000 in cash and products, including two major cash prizes of $15,000 for the winners in the Landscape and Portrait categories.
All finalists will be on display at the Head On Photo Festival, which is attended by a large number of people at two venues: the Festival Centre in Paddington Town Hall and the Paddington Reservoir Gardens.
The jury is made up of leaders from the Australian and international photography community who represent all professions in the photography world, including curators, editors, photographers, educators and industry leaders.
This year's jurors include Whitney Johnson of National Geographic, Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Rene Bayer, New York Times and Time Magazine photographer Adam Ferguson and Guide to Unique Photography editor Eric Vroom.
All photos are evaluated anonymously, without identifying the photographer. This process ensures that the work is chosen solely on merit and is independent of the photographer's popularity.
