The festival will take place from 15 to 31 May 2020 in Kostroma and will bring together artists who work with photography and other media.

The theme of the second Cosmos Bridge. The festival of contemporary photography will be "Provinciality". The concept of periphery is now being actively understood in the artistic field. We view the province as a special case of periphery in relation to the capital.

Our goal is to analyze the concept of provinciality and get its evaluation from the festival audience, inside and outside. We are interested in interpreting this concept both in its broad and narrow sense: from the general features of any province to the local identity of our region. We don't limit artists territorially, because many of us have experience of provinciality, even if we live and work in big cities or in the capital.

We are looking forward to projects that deal with the themes of collective memory, nomadism, folk rituals, tourism (and others that are relevant to the overall theme of the festival and the regional context).

The venue of the festival was Kostroma. It is located 300 km (and 5 hours) from Moscow, which makes it easily accessible for a visit, and is notable for its small size and rich cultural context. Thanks to this, it is comfortable to do creative work without falling out of the modern cultural stream. Kostroma is also called the "jewelry capital" due to the concentration of a large number of jewelry industries here.

The exhibition, to which we invite you to participate, will be the central event of the festival. In addition to it, a number of lectures and discussions will be held at different venues of the city, aimed at communicating with the audience, film screenings, a mediation program will be implemented and the results of the residence will be presented.
