Joint summer practice BLUNDER of 1905 and the Center for contemporary art VINZAVOD will be held in July.

 

the Trip to Italy for  the artist is an important step in the process of creative development. This tradition has a rich history. Since 18th century the best graduates of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts were sent to Rome to feel the spirit of great art  of the Renaissance.  Winkelmann once said of Poussin that he was born in Rome at the age of thirty years. Italy has given the world not only classic art, but futurism and arte povera.  entwinement of history and modern – the perfect atmosphere for the young artist, who only have to choose your own path.

 

According to the organizers, the practice will be divided into two parts. Traditional plein air to which go students a blunder. And the introduction of new mediums for the students and participants of the project START – photos, videos, basics of time based art (a workshop on staged and documentary photography) under the guidance of faculty of the Rodchenko school – the curator of the project start of the season 2015/2016 Kirill Preobrazhensky  and Mikhail Rozanov. This will allow the resident as to come into contact with the artistic heritage of the past and to explore the context of  contemporary art of the present.  Creating works, they will be able by personal experience to understand the eternal clash of classic and modern, to articulate the essential questions.
