Comment of the curator of the exhibition “beauty shop" Kirill Preobrazhensky

“beauty shop" is the second exhibition of the season 2015/2016 at the site START.  the Exhibition is devoted to problems of beauty, of glamour, of bestglamour. We see things everyday, recognizable images, network, glamorous. They all create a certain atmosphere.  I  would refer to her as the atmosphere of hidden threat and anxiety. Nails – a symbol of beauty, in its most ordinary, everyday understanding. But they have the potential of aggression, which is associated with modern, very aggressive marketing, mediynost. It wanted to convey through pure form and a new "door" objects.  On  the foreground, is sensuality and the artist is able to say something is not a descriptive discourse, and the materiality of the work.

the Exhibition raises questions about postfeminism art. At some point in modern Russian art was very important to adopt feminist discourse.  In this sense, Lenin exhibition more difficult. She doesn't protest-manifestarea where to the fore the slogans and formulations of themes related to feminist discourse. It is through gentleness, through an external appeal and hidden aggression asks more difficult questions.

“beauty shop" continues the theme that we began at the first exhibition of the season  Vladimir Omotowa  “Content”. These exhibitions are completely different in technique, as Volodya was  painted wood, plastic here, more modern technology. But, nevertheless, they have a common intonation. It is the danger latent in everyday life. Now I am preparing the third course in the curatorial program, which will mark the summing up of this theme.
