START – is a unique, unparalleled in Russia, a non-profit project that allows young talents to prove themselves through meaningful personal exhibitions at the Center for contemporary art WINERY. Being a link between budding authors and the professional art community, the LAUNCH opens new names and encourages the development of Russian contemporary art in General.

After a successful Start  young artists involved in the Moscow Biennale of contemporary art, Moscow Biennale for young art "Hold on.", in group exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

the Season will start with the updated portal projectstart.ru – the country's first interactive resource that contains the most complete information about young Russian contemporary art. Also this year special attention will be paid to the authors ' participation in international competitions and projects, the promotion of international cooperation, recognition for young artists in Russia and abroad.

«First solo exhibition – one of the most important and memorable events in the life of the artist,  says the curator of the 2015/2016 Kirill Preobrazhensky. In any case, we can confidently guarantee that this experience will never happen again. In my opinion, there is no perfect author or to the strategy of the algorithm the success of the first major solo exhibition.

In the Foundation of Russian culture, has always been the text, but excessive logocentricity in the visual arts can be a disadvantage of concrete work. That sometimes young artists are investing in original texts, could be expressed in the form and material. In any solo exhibition I am most interested in the creation of the new objectivity of the work and development of individual visual language.

Playground START at the Winery gives the opportunity to make significant steps in the international system of art and to abstract from the local context. Thanks to the emergence in Moscow and regions of a growing number of art and educational institutions working with contemporary art, begins to form a professional environment, creating a discourse, and, most importantly, in this environment, finally there is horizontal communication. This relatively new for Russia, the situation makes me curatorial interest and optimism regarding the new season courts START".
