Period of oscillation

Project author:

Liza Bobkova

START's artist

may 11, an exhibition of Lisa Bobkova "the Period of oscillation," representing the two mediums, which are inseparably linked with each other: statics and dynamics. Graphics beyond the sheet and rushes into space. Point, line, arc − graphical objects exist in constant motion, creating a broken rhythm.

the Author is in a meditative ringing vacuum of emptiness, but this emptiness – a mere optical illusion. Every inch of physical space is filled with metadata – invisible wave radiation. Artist Bobkova Lisa tries to give him the material, by visualizing the invisible world and fitting it in the area of human perception.

Radio, television and now the Internet create the information flow, continuously moving high-speed. This dictates a certain pace of information consumption, to capture and visualize which the diversity is only possible with the help of lines on the plane defined standard coordinate system. Diagrams, graphs, charts – quasi-scientific method of structuring the enormous data flow.

Using paper, bronze and steel, Lisa Bobkov goes further and makes the analysis of information in physical objects, allowing them to capture space and to advertise its existence, to go beyond the plane, to a visual and tangible signal that the artist relays in their specific manner.

this theme first appears in the fine art of the minimalists, after a series of scientific discoveries in physics. Modernist artists explored the mechanism of movement, but the postmodernists went further: their research – metadata, post-cognition. String theory, quantum mechanics, gravitational waves: artists begin to look for a way to display the reach of human perception phenomena. We do not see, hear or feel them, but they – part of everyday life
