The concept of the project
At some point, each human being realizes his or her finiteness and fragility, irreversibility of time, and inevitability of death. And I'm no exception. ‘The Cycle’ is a story of dealing with aging and fear of death.

The starting point of this project was my self-portrait. I make a lot of self-portraits because I am often alone, and because I am the person I know best. Also, everyone’s death is irreplaceable.
I made four identical prints of my self-portrait and I trusted them to the mercy of the four elements. I burned this self-portrait. It disappeared quickly, leaving no trace.
