The concept of the project
A series of works called "cargo-cult" dedicated to aviation and its impact on people.
The project is named in honor of a religious cult inhabitants of Melanesia, which existed during the Second world war.
The Russian writer Victor Pelevin's novel "the Empire" all human activity is like a cargo cult, and arose from the cry of the Great Mouse (), expression of which is the flight of aircraft in the sky.
The plane is a dream that exists in the mind of every person.
The artist tried to imagine how it looks this dream in the form of a plane in the eyes of ordinary islanders. And to Express it by means of painting.
For this object, which was the development of the meanings in the form of geometric abstract ornaments, was taken as the basis. The Ornaments are the projection onto the plane of the images of perception of reality, which people attribute magical meanings.
The plane is an object that exists in the real plane, and at the same time is a guide to the world of magic and wizardry.
In today's world many people would like to carry out so-called "American dream", the expression of which are the U.S. air force: bombers, supporting democracy and prosperity even in the most distant corners of our planet.
All works from this series are made on hardboard. Works are almost of the same size. Materials: acrylic and oil on canvas, hardboard.
