THIRD EXHIBITION OF 2014/15 SEASON – ALEXANDER OBRAZUMOV «7753191»
Alexander Obrazumov’s debut personal exhibition narrates folk rituals for attracting money. «7753191» reflects on the state of Russian society and on traditional mythologizing of people’s conscious. The exhibition visualizes these rituals found on the Internet. The artist is creating his own fake paradise based on folk spells.
«7753191 is a mantra for attracting money that was I found on Youtube. Interpenetration of consumerism and metaphysics is the main subject matter of this project. This interpenetration manifests itself in the willingness of people to perform different rituals calling money in the time of progressive economic crisis» – says Alexander Obrazumov.
The exhibit is sectioned off into several areas. First area is devoted to the visual aspects of capitalist propaganda that makes people consume and offers financial products as a tool for satisfying of desires. Central part contains three showcases with material representations of magic rituals for attracting money. This series of showcases ends with the main piece of the exhibition – the screen with video of 7753191 mantra being permanently displayed on it.

The title the exhibition - 7753191 is a "mantra" to attract money which was taken from a videos about magical rituals on Youtube under the request "spell on the money." The main topic of the project - the interpenetration of the consumerism and metaphysics, the test of the subjects material available in the Internet Videos for holding ceremonies to attract a material wealth.
