START has opened the door to a makeshift “beauty”, the perfect beauty boutique, which exhibits exhibited by all the laws of merchandising, and forced to draw the customer's attention on a particular product. Is there any point of contact between the world of artistic creation and the world of mass consumption, the author then asked each person to make their own choices.

Exhibition Lisa Bobkova “the Period of oscillation" presented  with two mediums, which are inseparably linked with each other: statics and dynamics. Using paper, bronze and steel, Lisa Bobkov turned the analysis of information in physical objects, allowing them to capture the space and announce their existence, to go beyond the plane.

“Cultivated weeds”

the exhibition “Cultivated weeds”   Elizabeth Chuhlantseva showed the everyday life of his homeland, a residential area of Kazan. Old plush toy, crochet lace doilies, faded blanket, dusty artificial flowers – all the artifacts from her childhood and Souvenirs of everyday life. With these items she told the story of his own growing up in a society where time has stopped.

“Your future – that's my background”

the Exhibition “Your future – it's my past” introduced the concept of the Museum, the artifacts of which the next generation will learn our time. In his exhibition, the Artist Kseniya Kudrina researched a new mythology of generation alpha (those born in the 2010s), whose values are forms of total digitalisation.

Juliana Podkorytov

In the space LAUNCH artist Juliana Podkorytov has created a kind of temple. This temple has all the attributes characteristic of the traditional design of religious architecture: the chancel, decorated with frescoes, sacred symbols, and, in fact, the subject of “cult”. But the “cult” – the object of the author's fiction.

Residence Start

START in Italy

Graduates Start Elena Martynenko Bogdan ABLOY took part in a residency for artists in Italy.

In July they are in a joint summer internship BLUNDER of 1905 and the Center for contemporary art VINZAVOD graduates Start together with project curator Kirill Preobrazhensky and students BLUNDER of 1905 had received one week of practice in Tuscany. According to the results of the practices in the red hall of the Centre for contemporary art WINERY hosted an exhibition of Opvs Modernvm.

LAUNCH in Germany

the curator of the Start of the season 2014/2015 Ivan Isaev took  part in the internship programme for young Russian curators, organized by the Association of cultural institutions of EU countries (EUNIC), in partnership with the Centre for contemporary art WINZAVOD.

START in France

Artist Start Lisa Bobkova became the laureate of the prize of the French Institute and with the support of Air France  and spent three months at the famous residence, Cité des arts international/Cité internationale des Arts in Paris.

Start Winning

curator of the project START 2014/2015 Ivan Isaev took part in the 11th Shanghai Biennale and received a grant for its own project of the contest for young Russian curators in the program of the Association of cultural institutions of EU countries (EUNIC).

on November 11 opened the 11th Shanghai Biennale. The theme of the Biennale this year —  WHY NOT ASK AGAIN. Curators — Raqs Media Collective, a collective of internationally renowned artists and curators from new-Delhi. Ivan Isaev with the support of the project START participated  in  Biennale with the project “Leaving room”. The exposition represents the interior of a room, created from the works of artists.

In December, Ivan Isaev received a grant for its own project of the contest for young Russian curators in the program of the Association of cultural institutions of EU countries (EUNIC).

after the EUNIC internship in Hamburg, he presented the draft of the future experimental laboratory for artists, where life and creativity are inseparable adjacent to each other.

 

Portfolio review Launch

In 2016, the Launch curator Kirill Preobrazhensky held  portfolio review in Tyumen, Novosibirsk and Kaliningrad.

START at other sites

START in the CHA

From 21 to 25 September START  presented an exhibition of selected works by its members “a Collection of project START of the Fund's Winery” “the Russian Forum of collectors” in the Central House of the Artist.

Exhibition  is a retrospective of the project START. It was possible not only to see how varied the project, but also to identify the main trends in the development of Russian art young: what excites modern authors, how to change themes and technologies with which they work, developing a dialogue between the curator and the artist.

START at the festival “Form”

on 13 July, the START took part in the festival “Form”. The exhibition  of the festival was  presented objects Lisa Bobkova.
