Open Call: 1st Antarctic Biennale
In March 2017, one winner (at the age of 35, as of may 1, 2017) will join an international group of invited artists, scientists and thinkers (of all ages) on the edge of the world. The group will include, among others, tomás Saraceno (Argentina), Hani Rashid (Canada) and Matthew Ritchie (UK / USA).
in Addition to the participation of the winner in the expedition to Antarctica, fifteen "finalists" will be invited to participate in a group exhibition in the Pavilion of the Antarctic in Venice, Italy, in the summer of 2017.

Projects submitted for consideration can be from any field of art (e.g., installation, performance, film, etc.). The winning project can be implemented on Board the expedition vessel of the Biennale, on water, on ice or on the shore of the Antarctic. The project must also comply with the motto of the Biennale – Moving in movable.
In accordance with the ethics of conservation established by the Organization of the Antarctic Treaty and International Association of Antarctic tour Operators, none of the materials may be left on the coast of Antarctica after the demonstration works in any form. In addition, the project should not have permanent effects on the continent or on its animal inhabitants.
for transportation projects will be taken into account in the evaluation of proposals from artists. The concept works must demonstrate basic compatibility with unique weather conditions and environmental conditions of the region.
We are also open to the reception of existing video works to be considered for the film Antarctic Biennale. This program will be held on Board the expedition vessel of the Biennale during the 1st Antarctic Biennale, and video work can potentially be included in future exhibition projects.
